I wish I could reread this dad-odyssey for the first time over and over again. Absolutely enthralling from very early on. Magary does a wonderful job of gradually building emotional tension even in such a fast read. If I hadn’t intentionally paced myself, I would have finished it in a matter of hours due to the sheer magic and readability of this book. For fans of fantasy, Dungeons and Dragons, or psychological tension, this book is a great read. The comedic aspects of this book don’t feel forced, and offer the perfect amount of light in times of darkness. The ending gave me goosebumps. I wish I could read a million versions of this story.
