Cherry Beats by Vicki James
5.0
A BILLION STAR READ!
This story... le sigh... le swoon...
I adored Tess and Presley huge amounts! Presley is everything a woman wants from a book boyfriend, he’s perfect but flawed in all the right ways.
Tess/Cherry for me stole the show. I loved her snark, her sarcasm and how she lost herself but found her path once again.
The side characters are brill and I really hope we get more from Rhett, Molly and more importantly Bourbon (sorry I’ve done it again, I’ve fallen in love with someone other than the leading man) in the future because they really do deserve their own stories.
The way the music is woven throughout this story is sublime although I have to admit to putting the book down to either listen to or sing the songs, Bryan bloody Adams and Bon F***ing Jovi, please what was a girl to do? These guys are some of my music heroes!
From page one this story was filled with brilliance, brilliance that got brighter the more you read. I’ve smiled and cried as I’ve read, my heart has grown and then collapsed in on itself, I’ve felt every emotion not only from the characters but from the music and frankly I want to go back and do it all again!
