The Reading List
by Sara Nisha Adams
The Reading List focuses on the importance of books and how reading can change perspectives or help people process negative emotions. Through the main characters - Aleisha and Mukesh - and their everyday experiences, it addresses topics such as mental health/illness, family dynamics, intergenerational friendship, and tradition.
Reading this book was a cosy and heartwarming experience that brought me tranquillity, even when the plot addressed heavy topics. Above all, it captured the main reason most people enjoy reading: the possibility of living someone's (fictional) life, escaping reality and sharing their experiences.
