A Certain Age by Beatriz Williams

I’ve been robbed! I just finished and i am so mad, like i wanted a hot/moving reunion scene with Octavian and Sophie and instead it just totally fizzled out! WTF! Why are we reading Sophie’s lame diary about funerals and boring ass details when we could be reading of some big moment when he comes to her to say he’s leaving Theresa, or any in person account from their wedding, or their wedding night?!? Especially after Octavian only goes to Sophie after Theresa releases him/tells him to (hated that too- why couldn’t he leave her for Sophie) I felt like we needed/deserved to have a moment in order to hear him explain himself/ask her back so that we could feel he was worth Sophie’s love still and be excited for them. I also hate hate hate that Theresa is pregnant with his baby. Sophie was too good for all of them in the end! The last two chapters sucked so hard, all I wanted was to see Sophie and Octavian FINALLY coming together and then having it all snatched away with NO details or big moment between them whatsoever when the rest of their love story was so great the whole book is thievery. I really am sad this otherwise would have been up there as one my favorite BW books.
