Queen of Roses
by Briar Boleyn
adventurous
challenging
dark
emotional
mysterious
sad
tense
I just finished my round 4 book for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Book Club, Queen of Roses! This one was so good. The treachery, the backstabbing, the shocking revelations, and the simmering romantic tension had me thinking about this one long after I put it down. 📖
One of my favorite parts of the book was FMC, Morgan Pendragon. She’s a princess, but I loved that she wasn’t pampered or spoiled. Morgan has had an incredibly tough life, but managed to become a kind person with an amazing found family surrounding her. Almost all of her actions were guided by her need to love and protect, despite the fact that she experienced very little love and protection from her own biological family. 🫶
Now, let’s talk quests. I love a good quest, so I was thrilled to see Morgan and her companions embark on an epic one. As a reader, I enjoyed breaking free from the confines of the castle in Camelot and exploring a few of the neighboring kingdoms in Eskira. It was in this journey that the story really picked up for me. Especially once we met a mysterious, but hot, musician. 👀
By the time I got to the last 50 pages of the book, I could not put it down! I’m being 100% serious when I say that my jaw literally dropped during at least one plot twist that I didn’t see coming. By the time I read the last word on the last page, I was already tapping “purchase” on book two. I NEED to know what happens next.
In the pages, you will find:
🔥Slowburn romance
🏕️One tent
🔐Forced proximity
😡”Who did this to you?”
🤝Found family
⚔️Enemies to lovers
💪A strong FMC
📚The first book in a completed series!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5
