Little Mushroom: Revelations
by Shisi
I already knew from other people's reviews that this is one of those titles where you shouldn't judge the content by it's first impression. "Little Mushroom" is a very cutesy title but the content for sure isn't.
I knew this, but I was still taken by surprise at some points. There were so many characters being introduced only to die a few chapters later. The one second they were there and in the next they were gone, which really fits into the story because that's exactly the world that our character's are living in. No one knows what is going to happen next. I feel like this is the biggest strength of the story as this kind of setup leaves you constantly at the edge of your seat and allows you to keep going. At the other hand I feel like the plot might have been too fast changing at points. Especially towards the end of the main story I barely had time to adjust to the plot twists that were happening before being hit by the next. I feel like the story should've taken a bit more time to set the things up that were happening towards the end.
Bonus: I absolutely adored Lu Feng. I love the kind of characters that are "show, don't tell". The way he always took care of An Zhe using little gestures... Ahhhh I love those kind of relationships.
