The Answer Is…: Reflections on My Life by Alex Trebek

5.0

I started to get bored with the book, but then it reached into my soul and said, “not so fast.” This book isn’t like most memoirs. Alex even talks about that in his introduction. The book has snipits of his life in short chapters with some pearls of wisdom / life lessons / ways to live life thrown in there. I was surprised to know that this is his first book that he’s written and that he wrote this during chemo treatments and the pandemic.

Alex has led an interesting life. His path to jeopardy was indeed crazy. It turns out he’s funny, like really funny and a tool man. I loved finding out that he travels a lot to Yorkshire and has been to many places I have been. My favorite chapters were conscience and a single step.

You won’t get an in depth memoir of his life, but you will get something better, I think. I laughed and sat amazed at some of the stuff I’ve read. And I’m not a jeopardy nerd. I will say this book won’t be for everyone. But I loved reading it.
