I think this is one of my all-time favourite middle grades!
It was just a whole book about

a girl who loves cooking, and it was brilliant! It had a little bit of Stacy McAnulty in it, or maybe that's what all middle grades are like.

I loved the fact that Indian food was included too.
Three words I would use to describe this book: eye-catching, short, and mouthwatering
I would recommend it to not everyone but definitely fans of James Patterson or Stacy McAnulty.
