Song of Myself: The First and Final Editions of the Great American Poem by Walt Whitman

hopeful reflective slow-paced

5.0

The first time in a long time that I've loved a poem this much, especially to the point where I've been unable to put it down!

It's beautifully subtle, and the language and imagery work perfectly to convey Whitman's love of the world. The central theme of what is essentially pantheism is intermingled with commentary on equality and social justice. Quietly revolutionary 👌
