I almost DNF'd this multiple times during the first 25% because it was so slow and I was so bored and I just couldn't get in to the dynamic or the tropes at all. But by about 40% and definitely at 50% I was well invested. I don't necessarily think it should have taken that long for me to get invested but I'm really glad that I stuck it out because it got so good. It's exactly the brand of insecurities and angst I like. 

The boring first quarter and the fact that
Ky forces Noah to consciously acknowledge his trauma and emotional issues for the first time literally ever and then immediately afterwards tells him that hes too broken to be together and he needs to fix himself before Ky can date him or even be friends with him
is why its not 5 stars. Thats seriously fucked up.  That's not how you handle those issues and Ky being a doctor makes even worse because he should know that that's not how you handle those issues. 

The sex scenes were sooo good and the narrator was ACTING not just reading.
