Very cool. Three chansons de geste that haven't been translated to English before, all with the theme of stories that take place in the lead-up to Roland's last stand at Roncevaux Pass. Great introductions and useful footnotes.

Gui of Burgundy is a weird, alternate universe version of The Song of Roland, where Charlemagne and the Paladins have been making war in Spain for 26 years, and a new generations of knights must come to their aid. A lot of small details, usually military, that you don't usually find in the gestes.

Roland at Saragossa is basically a romance. Some fun action and one of the few gestes where Roland and Oliver really get to shine, which is weird when you think about it, how they're the biggest characters but they never have all that much to do.

Otinel is cool and has those great arming scenes and the Marvel Team-Up storyline, though I was already broadly familiar with it from reading Otuel a Knight.
