Did not finish book.

This was scary only because the subject matter was inherently scary, not because it was written or executed in a particularly skilled way. In many ways the writing even took away from the creepy factor, things happen fast and in quite succession, without much time to linger with the horror of it.
Perhaps more importantly, I grew bored of the happenings. Too much happened without consequences while revelations were too slow. This, in combination with how little I realized I cared for the characters, left me bored.
Not terrible, but I'd rather spend my time with something else.
