I'm a big fan of Japanese Breakfast and a lover of memoirs of all kinds. I've been looking forward to this since I first read the original Crying in H-Mart essay published back in 2017 or so. It took me a while to get through this because I knew it would be sad once I really got into it, and I was right. If you need a good cathartic cry this is a sure-fire way to get you started. I admire Zauner's honesty about her grief and her experiences. Worth reading.
