Prelude to Foundation
by Isaac Asimov
You can tell that this book was written in a much different time than the original series was written. The story flows different (better in my opinion) The conversations are more real and not as stilted. It's a bit of a bridge between old scifi and new.
I enjoyed this as much as some of the original trilogy and the books that followed and much more than others.
The actual plot of the story was exactly as I figured, and it was fine enough. If you like the other Foundation Series plots, you will like this one.
What I really liked was the telling of the story. There was a significant change in the action and a lot of political intrigue that I really enjoyed. The book touches a lot on socioeconomics and prejudices, and they play part in the plot as well.
There was even some humor, which the previous books lacked.
