A train wreck so bad I couldn’t put it down. Low key might be one of the worst books I’ve ever read. I’m disappointed because I liked this author’s last thriller, but I felt like they were trying too hard to be twisty, so the twists lost their impact because it was just one after the other. The plot was underdeveloped, the characters were surface level, lacked depth, and felt like they came out of a B-level horror movie. The twists could have made more sense if the plot wasn’t the twists themselves. We get surface level backstory throughout the book, but the actual story doesn’t happen until the twist happens. It was too much.

As a trigger warning for the book it contains graphic descriptions of dead newborns. I would never have read this if I’d known it was in there.

This book was definitely not for me. The only reason I didn’t DNF is I received an advanced copy, so wanted to provide the review they asked for.
