Only You by Melanie Harlow

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Nate is a divorce lawyer and a self-proclaimed “forever bachelor”. He doesn’t believe in love and believes marriage isn’t worth it because half of them fail.
Emme is a wedding planner and a romantic. She’s the polar opposite of Nate, and believes in happily ever after. She also tends to fall for the wrong man, and has her heart broken a lot.
Imagine Nate’s surprise when he finds out he’s a dad by literally finding his daughter on his doorstep. He has no idea what to do with a two-month old baby and has to rely on Emme to help him.
Nate was none to pleased when he discovered he was a father, but man did he handle it well. He really stepped up to the plate and learned from his mistakes. I really enjoyed reading his transformation from macho bachelor to good dad.
I enjoyed Emme’s character as well, but there were a few times I thought she “gave in” to Nate a little too quickly. I would have liked for her to stand up for herself a little more in the beginning.
Nate’s backstory was pretty heartbreaking, as was his relationship with his mother. I wish there had been more to that part of the story – it felt lacking and in need of some closure. I also wish the epilogue was more in the future, but that’s just a personal preference.
Overall, I truly enjoyed this story and I’m now going to go back and read the Frenched series that I didn’t know about, that contains Emme’s cousin and boss. I would recommend this book.
