Final Fantasy VII: The Kids Are Alright: A Turks Side Story

This is some straight up F-tier fanfic, I'm shocked that this even got published. I'd read On The Way To A Smile and enjoyed it, so I was surprised how terrible this was. It's basically unreadable, a very shoddy translation not helping its cause.
Despite billing itself as a "Turks Side Story" this is really a story about a very boring, vapid original character and his 500+ randomly named friends and townsfolk. Seriously, they're always dropping some random name like 'oh, that happened to Binky on Tuesday when he was going to meet Frog.' They all get to have all these meaningful connections to canon characters because the book says so.
And when it does actually have the Turks in it, they're completely out of character and might as well be more weird original characters. I mentally checked out pretty early on when they had Rude grab/hit some girl's butt and claim it self defense. But I bought the book so I might as well skim it.
Oh, also, Don Corneo lived and got married which is fun and cool. Definitely everyone is glad this character didn't die horribly like he obviously did in FF7.
Not super jazzed that they put these terrible characters in FF7:R but I dunno. Maybe they'll make them better. They're pretty vapid in this, they have wiggle room. But even as a fan of the franchise for two decades, I cannot recommend this book. Skip it. Go read/watch/play literally any other installation in the series.
