The emotional wreckage this story has left me in will not be forgiven. It’s A LOT of twists and turns which is what Sager is known for. He went big for this one. But my heart just aches at what some of the characters had to go through. I do appreciate the author attempting a happy ever after, but that can only be achieved so much in the thriller genre. For what the book is supposed to be: an exciting, thrilling, who dun it, story, it was done well.

……but I’m still sad

My heart breaks for Virginia. I almost cried when I was reading about her not being able to hold her baby and that emptiness
she felt after all her dreams were ripped from her. I’m really glad her son didn’t die but as a mother to 3 (two being sons), I can’t help but to think how painful that must have been. And she was only 15!!! ughhhhh. But then I tell myself that it’s not real and that kinda sorta helps my proxy heartbreak.
