So apparently I does get better by book two. Despite how long this was to lister to it didn't feel that long. The plot thickens but not annoyingly so. I'm hoping with the introduction of these new characters the complexity of the plot also thickens. The spice isn't as "spicy" as everyone makes it out to be and that's annoying cause there's so much potential. But overall there was a lot of interesting developments.
