Midnight Run with Aphra and Trip! This book really gets deep into what makes Aphra "worst" but still manages to offer a sliver of credible altruism in there. She's a good character for a black-and-white universe like Star Wars is what I'm saying.
The introduction of the Imperial PR department is a good one too as it gives us a good glimpse of day-to-day life on full Imperial worlds and how people get oppressed without having Death Stars pointed at them. It does this while still being a high-adrenaline chase book, so hey, maybe The Running Man is an even better comparison than Midnight Run?
