Desolation and Epiphany by James W. A.

emotional inspiring reflective medium-paced

4.5

“To me, love is both disease and cure, poison and antidote, creation and annihilation.”

Reviewing Desolation & Epiphany was a harder task than I thought it would. That highly strung volume of poetry resounded in me in so many ways that it’s complicated to rightly put my feelings into words. The author expresses a whole panel of emotions and thoughts about life, in such a delicate –though sometimes unchained and tormented– way that I felt transported by my reading.
Free poetry is my favourite form (most of the time) and that collection doesn’t make an exception. I felt aligned with so many of the texts that I couldn’t just pick one, the author’s words are such a reflection of myself, in all my facets. If, like me, you like to open a poetry book randomly and read a few texts, I would recommend the physical book. That being said, I particularly enjoyed how the collection is organized, as it makes the emotions fluctuate, not abruptly but in some kind of oscillations that make the reading even more meaningful.

Thank you to James W.A. and HappilyBooked PR for the ARC copy of that book. My opinions are my own.
