The First Girl Child by Amy Harmon

5.0

Was full with years worth of details.
Some of the best characters ever created.
Lush with mythology lore. Odin, Thor, Freya.
I must stress that the beginning half of the book was challenging for me. The story really works up to the good stuff. While I think the story could have started in the middle of the book and been just as good, I do feel accomplished and understand the characters a bit more than if the first half wouldn't have been there to read.
I wanted more Alba and Bayr moments.
I think the POV of this book is what made it so detailed and hard to love at first. I much prefer first person POV but Amy did a good job.
I have to thank the other reviewers. If it wasn't for their insistence that this was worth the read I might have stopped 10% in.
