The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World by Desmond Tutu, Dalai Lama XIV, Douglas Carlton Abrams
4.0

I read this gem of a book because I have long admired Archbishop Desmond Tutu for his activism against apartheid in South Africa and then his work toward reconciliation afterwards. While both men (along with Douglas Adams, who conducted the interviews and put the book together) reference their faiths when speaking on the topic of joy, neither one is evangelizing (this is neither a Christian nor a Buddhist book), and they discuss scientific research almost as much as they do aspects of their faiths. The most beautiful part to me was the heartwarming friendship between these two people.
