Hood Feminism: Notes from the Women That a Movement Forgot by Mikki Kendall

4.0

"Well the oppressed can and do fight oppression, what happens when the people who are supposed to help you fight oppression on one axis are your oppressors on another?"

This is a must read book. It talks about the intersectionality of feminism and how white feminists have focused on misogyny without relation to how this is extenuated by race, sexuality, disability, and poverty. Kendall talks about her own life and experiences and on research, statistics and resources. A call not just to talk about feminism but to take action.
