Incredible book. I wish I would have read this book first before reading warrior girl unearthed. But it just made me want to go back and read both again anyway. Heartbreaking, but beautiful to hear the experiences and culture of indigenous people. I loved the ending as well. Not all endings wrap up in a perfect bow, and I thought the way the ending was written in this novel made the experiences Daunis had a reality of what indigenous women go through.
