picked this up at second-hand shop. Hemingway’s writing style is insightful to read and different from anything i’ve read before. Some chapters are very slow paced. When he and his subordinate shot the Srg. for turning away from them, it was one of the more surprising scenes for me. It felt out of character, but it helped ground it to the realities of WWI. The last 10 so pages are so tragic. I found Catherine a strange character from the start
