Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell

3.5

The findings are very interesting and provide truths to the shadows behind big names and how valuable their legacies are. However - and maybe I should have known this beforehand - it’s not an academic analysis; rather, it is an exploration of the variables that play into a character’s success with explanations to various extraordinary outcomes. Therefore, we see that the book does not fully go in-depth on one subject nor proves to be an expert in each field covered. But that’s okay, as it makes the book an easy-read, especially one that is accessible to those that aren’t academically trained to pick up on specific linguistic cues, not to mention the relaxed vocabulary. Overall, enjoyable book, but don’t rely on it to fully inform you on success.
