This was such an adorable, sweet read that broke my heart repeatedly just so it could put it back together again.

I was lucky to receive a copy of this story early in exchange for an honest review, and let me tell you…I will be recommending it to everyone to add to their summer reads! I’m obsessed. Laura Ashley Gallagher writes so beautifully. The story was well paced and flowed perfectly, and there were so many wonderful quotes throughout!

Plot: I am a sucker for a good single-dad trope featuring those golden retriever meets teddy bear type men that just deserve so much love. This did not disappoint in meeting those needs! LAG delivers us the perfect grumpy-sunshine, single dad meets hot nanny story while adding a whole ton of depth. After tragedy strikes, Wes steps up to raise his baby niece. Feeling overwhelmed with the task of balancing his work life with his newfound single parent status, Wes decides to hire a nanny. Don’t be fooled into thinking you’ve heard this story before, because you haven’t. Do yourself a favour and add it to the TBR. Wes and Lena will give you butterflies!

Characters: Loved them all. Lena makes a great FMC. She’s strong, talented, charming, always puts others first and despite feeling a bit lost in life, she has a strong sense of self and core values. She loves easily, even if her experiences make her feel vulnerable. Wes is perfect. Sigh. I could find no fault! He shows up for those he cares about in the biggest way and watching him come out of his shell is so heartwarming. Their banter is adorable and had me giggling alongside them! Be warned though - as cute and funny as this book is, you will also want the tissues!
