One criticism of this book is that the writing for it is not necessarily up to the same part as many other autobiographical novels, but this almost even more effectively contributed to the overarching storyline of the book. The emotion in it is raw and unfiltered. It is a look into a life that most of us will never experience, and the conversational tone and flow of the novel makes you feel like you are listening to Guerrero tell you this story over (extremely emotional) cocktails. The Guerrero feels like a friend telling the story rather and gives both a face and an empathy to people in her same plight.
