The Year of Taking Chances
by Lucy Diamond
Lucy Diamond has become one of my favourite authors! I really like her books; they are wholesome, delving into problems that all of us experience on a daily basis. I also love how they are addictive as well, with storylines that make me want to read more and more. I loved the friendship in this book that blossomed between Saffron, Caitlin, and Gemma. It was a friendship that we all long and hope for in our lives, with many of us looking far and wide for it. Gemma's difficulties with Spencer, Karen, and her children really made me wonder how strong this woman was, and how she kept going despite the many setbacks that she had faced. I also loved how Caitlin was adamant about finding her birth family, while helping Gemma out with her new business venture. Saffron was strong when she found out that she was pregnant, and had to endure her sister, Eloise's, torment at being pregnant. All in all, these three ladies were able to solve their difficulties with the help of each other, which is what true friendship is all about!
