I half enjoyed this. In theory, it has everything I want from a book, but actually reading it wasn't very interesting. Plot was pretty confusing and holey, characters were sometimes more like stereotypes (which Six of Crows did better). But the writing was beautiful, I like the criminal tearoom vibes a lot, and I have a soft spot for the main character being from fantasy Sri Lanka.
Graphic: Blood, Fire/Fire injury, Colonisation
Moderate: Gun violence, Racism, Slavery, Violence
