“If they awarded Idiot of the Year prizes, he'd sweep the whole category.”
If love had a price, it would come out to $15,000 and a kiss. Kris hires Nate to help her break up her dad and his fiancé. Nate agrees and thinks it’ll be fun trying to melt Kris’s icy heart just for funsies.
This romance had a wild plot twist. Was it necessary for the romance aspect? Absolutely not. Was it fun drama? Yes!
Kris and Nate’s backstories mirror each other in some ways. I liked seeing how that made them similar but also different. Absolutely love some of the gray area of ethics/morals that Kris and Nate dance with when attempting to break up Kris’s dad and fiancé. Nate has several moments of being super possessive - which is always fun in a book (but not IRL).
Kris and Nate have a lot of baggage that they unpack together. I really appreciate the whole icy but only melts for one person thing and this book does that fairly well. Nate becomes Kris’s safe place and getting to see a different side of Kris compared to the previous books in the series was fun.
