The Faint of Heart
by Kerilynn Wilson
I liked this. I can’t say much more than that. Well, I can, but that’s the basic feeling it left me with.
The idea wasn’t anything new, but it was done well. I liked the art a lot. I liked the pacing. It kept things pretty simple and didn’t try to shove too many people or ideas in there. That is something I’ve seen too often these days with YA graphic novels. They put so many ideas in the book, but nothing gets the attention it deserves.
This was very sparse, but (I believe) purposely done that way. Which is good.
So, while I don’t really have any complaints, it didn’t hit me as hard as I would have liked. Maybe it’s because I’m too old for it now. I remember reading stuff like this when I was younger and would talk about it endlessly and saying it made me feel so much.
So, I hope it does that for you. Because that stuff sticks with you for life and I love that stuff from 20 years ago.
Wow. This got way more introspective than I was planning.
