This is my first Sci-Fi book and it did NOT disappoint. i cannot wait to read the whole series. It was just so absurd, amusing, funny, clever and (no pun intended) out of this world. It was interesting seeing a futuristic, alien world written by a person in the 70’s, considering all that we know today.
I made many annotations but reading back all I can say is that this book is hilarious and SO political and critical. Absolutely LOVE when books include nudges about politics and the system. I mean, come on! Marvin,—the Paranoid Android 😭😭—, deserves his own novel with just his thoughts and knowledge! He is THE funniest, wittiest and sarcastic character without even knowing it.
btw Absolutely GAGGED with the “Senior Shouting Officer”… 🤭
This book just makes you realize how insignificant and little us humans are even in our planet. But also how beautiful and wonderful Earth is, we just don’t appreciate it.
There’s so many things about this book that were just perfection. It did feel a lot heavier, in the sense that it took me a lot more time than I expected to finish it. The writing was a bit hard to follow sometimes (most likely because english isn’t my first language and it can be a little more difficult considering this was written in the 70s— lots of words I’ve never heard before) but I learned a lot and I really enjoyed the story.
