This is definitely a book I wouldn't recommend to people, but I wouldn't dissuade them from reading either.
I just didn't love it. I felt the pacing was a bit slow and there were times when I felt like the author either went into too much detail or not enough. I wish I had more clarity with the time slowing down super power. I also don't feel like she did enough with it to justify having a magical power in an otherwise very realistic book.
I thought it had very interesting themes and through lines between Mai, Lily, and Nick. The over arching story was much more interesting to me than actually reading it.
