The Truth about Forever
by Sarah Dessen
Entertaining teen love story I borrowed when I was out of books to read on my recent road trip. YA books these days scare me a little because they're so... "mature" but this book was realistic without being over the top. (No sex, I only remember two F bombs...) Macy, the main character, learns a lot about herself in a rewarding and refreshing way, but can still be dense sometimes even towards the end which got a little frustrating. As for the end... it could have been more rewarding. I wanted the ex-boyfriend to SEE Macy move on and I wanted a confrontation with the mother before the too-simple, too-perfect epilogue.
