This was a three and a half for me. There were some clear problems--the build of Josh and Lucy's relationship being way too fast, Pap's passing having no lingering impact in the story, the premise being kind of stupid. I also had trouble with some of the shenanigans throughout the book (you know the stuff I'm talking about,) which came across as too easy. I also didn't like the transition from the Jade scene to the ending, which was really abrupt. On the positives, though, this was a quick read with distinct characters, although they didn't seem to have much depth, and actual ending scene was well conceptualized. The cheesy naming I also just cannot abide. Overall, it was an overall enjoyable read--just not one whose execution was especially elegant.
