I really enjoyed this read. My understanding is this book was written to really pull people in to the cause John Green is fighting for. For people to emotionally connect with and care about the people who die every year who do not need to because of TB.
That said, having watched a lot of John Greens videos and listened to podcasts leading up to this, I think a lot of really interesting facts and connections were shared leading up that led me to think this would be longer and be more historical. I cannot fault the book for what it is, but my expectations led to it being less satisfying to read then I had hoped. It is a powerful book though that conveys an important message. I hope it helps the world.
For myself, I added some more books to my TBR (thanks to the recommendations at the back of this book) in the hopes I can get more of what I want out of this topic!
