I read this because a movie reviewer I liked referenced a Twitter bot account that spat out quotes from the book, and though I'd always assumed it was one of the boring classics, I liked so many of the quotes that I wanted to give it a try. So many chapters about boat details. So many chapters. Maybe on a reread I'll appreciate them. As things stand, I would have traded them all for 550 pages of Ahab monologues.
