The Citadel at the End of the World by Y.R. Liu

2.0

The Citadel at the End of the World novella held some promise at the beginning but quickly devolved into a chaotic ending that felt really rushed. I really wish this would have been a full-length series of novels to explore more of the world, the politics, and the characters within. It would probably have been really fantastic. Instead, it felt like an entire series of books crammed into 80 pages. Writing was good but it was written at such a breakneck pace that it left you little time to get to know any one character or their motivations besides the main protagonist. 2.5 stars.
