The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones
4.0
3.75⭐️ I listened to the audio book and there were parts where my mouth literally dropped open.
CW: GORE. Explicit descriptions of animal and human gore, and it is integral to the plot so you can’t skip over it.
I’ve been meaning to get around to this book for a couple years and I’m glad I did. It’s different from the kind of books I normally read and not just because of the gore. I think I read mainly thrillers when I’m looking for something to get the adrenaline pumping but this did a WAY better job.
There are own voices reviewers who can speak more to the cultural complexity of this book. I am pretty out of the loop. But I loved Jones’ play with perspective and narration and well as the ambiguous morals.
