Christmas in Heaven
by E.L. Ough, A.E. Jensen
This might be my favorite MM Christmas romance of all time. It was such a sweet story. I loved both main characters, Heaven and Mason. Heaven is nineteen and lost his parents when he was sixteen. He lives in London and was placed in the foster care system until he aged out. A charity called Helping Hands stepped in to provide him with housing and a job. He’s very smart, but he has an invisible neurological condition called dysgraphia, which makes it difficult for him to communicate his thoughts in writing. In an amazing turn of events, he is offered an internship in the US. Things get interesting when he meets a grumpy, 30-year-old businessman (Mason) on his flight to the US. Mason's grumpiness quickly evaporates as he settles in and meets the young burst of sunshine sitting next to him. Mason starts feeling young again and eventually concludes that he has been sleepwalking through life. The two guys are so good for each other. It's a short story, so it's hard to say much without ruining it. Mason comes across as pretty commanding, but not in a bad way. I liked that Heaven started getting aroused on the plane when Mason got bossy. I also liked that Mason accepted Heaven as he is. Heaven likes to embrace his feminine side with lingerie and jewelry and it’s a real turn-on for Mason.
It's an instant love story, which doesn't bother me at all but might bother some readers. I know I'm being picky, but I have a couple of minor criticisms. A non-stop flight from London to Casper, Wyoming isn't a reality. Despite Casper’s airport being called international, it has about two departures a day to other Wyoming destinations and nearby states. However, Wyoming was a beautiful choice for a Christmas story. Second, going from virgin to f*ucking like rabbits in a week was a bit of a stretch. Ouch! But Mason was really good at taking care of Heaven! I couldn't get enough of these two guys!
