Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness

4.0

This might have ranked slightly higher had I not marathon read Half Lost right before finishing this final addition to the Chaos Walking Trilogy. I can be quite sceptical about YA ‘bad guys’, but feel as though Patrick Ness finally sold me on Mayor Prentiss in this novel, and gaining that understanding really helped me to enjoy the finale more fully. As with the previous novels, Monsters of Men was chock-full of metaphor and thought provoking themes surrounding war and conflict, justice, morals, relationships, mankind, and so on…. Perhaps a little slower paced, but still a thrilling conclusion to the series.
