Neon Genesis Evangelion, Vol. 4 by Lillian Olsen, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto

loved this volume so much. Asuka has always been one of my favorite Evangelion characters and it surprised me how the manga goes deeper into her past, but it explains the way she behaves so much more. from delving into the manga, it becomes evident that it offers a fresh perspective and adds more context. one notable difference was in this volume where Asuka reveals to Shinji the real reason the evangelion units are utilized in the series. I was also shocked to see Adam's early introduction in the manga (or his remains at least...), but these moments add more depth to the narrative as well as contributing to the clarity of past events and character dispositions. while the anime itself is a masterpiece, the pacing and dense (usually unexplored) themes can leave viewers feeling puzzled about specific plot details; the manga, however, is given time to flesh out these details and provide clearer insight.

if you're a fan of the anime and find yourself grappling with its enigmatic elements, i recommend you give the manga a read. it can serve as a guide and fill out gaps to deepen your understanding of the series.
