From how this book is marketed you clearly get a Murakami vibe and when you read it it becomes clear why. The premise is a modern fairytale and the protagonist has the passivity of so many of his characters. But I found it different enough to stand on its own. The humor was much more on the nose and this book made me laugh out loud a few times. I liked how it was more a a revue of old characters of the protagonist's life and not endless speeches. An enertaining book if nothing groundbreaking
