I have pretty mixed feelings about this. I read an ebook version from the library, and almost DNFd it. Not because it is a bad book or because i was disinterested, but because the topic is a hard one. I pushed through, though, in the last 48 hours before it needed to go back, and i’m glad i did.

If you’re reading this review you probably already have the gist of it:
Mixed-race girl living in “christian” cult family figures out she’s queer and….

Content-wise it’s contemporaneous with The Miseducation of Cameron Post and Surrender Your Sons, but thankfully there’s less torture… kinda.

Anyway,
there’s a HEA 🥰 and
as challenging as I found it, def. 4½ ⭐️
