I started off not being a big fan of Cheryl, then I felt bad for her, and then I decided that she's just one of those people who's too complicated to put in a box. And then I thought about how that's actually true a lot of the time and this is kind of a lesson not to judge a book by its cover. And then I decided that instead of hiking the PCT, she could have either worked as a camp counselor or at Dutch Bros and either of those things could have worked for her just as well. And then I started daydreaming about taking a solo trip OR hiking for like a week in the wilderness with Tommy. And then I finished the book at work, got emo, and wrote this review.
