This book is for anyone who's ever read a fairy tale and thought, "Why does Prince Charming have less personality than plain bread?"
Liam, Frederic, Duncan, and Gustav are all unconventional heroes who are ridiculously stupid and incompetent in their own way. Combined as a group, their chemistry is off the charts. The interactions between the princes made me laugh out loud multiple times.
The writing is cheeky and clever, but it walks the fine line between parody and heart. You can tell that the book is a love letter to classic fairy tales instead of pure mockery. The plot mostly exists to give the characters a reason to go on a big adventure and get into silly shenanigans.
All in all, the book is a charming and hilarious spin on fairy tale tropes with lovable characters and humor that holds up.
