another book club read but also one for my current quest to read more muslim literature. 

SO well-written and emotional. my only critique, which isn’t really a critique but more of a preference, is that it was such a male-dominated book. i think part of that speaks to the patriarchal culture and vastly segregated experiences of men and women in a lot of Central Asian Muslim families, so I am looking forward to reading A Thousand Splendid Suns by the same author to get more of the female experience that I connect with more
