This was unexpectedly delightful. I didn't know anything about this book going into it. I got it free from the Audiobook Sync summer program and it was an "R" book for my A to Z readathon, so I just put it on and started to fall in love. First, it's a post-apocalyptic world that's past the apocalyptic stuff and is rebuilding. I was fascinated by the world-building and the anti-technology sentiment and the way modern things (like soda bottles and army men) are viewed as either priceless or dangerous). I loved the idea of history moving in loops, which is a very eastern perspective on time and not one you see often in western literature. I was captured by the characters and there was a section of the book where I literally didn't know who to trust, but in the best way. It felt very real. Just a wonderful book!
